Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support the finance and accounting function of a growing aged care provider.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, this is a hands-on role offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute to strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial reports including P&L, balance sheet, internal reports, and cash flow statements
  • Reconcile general ledger and intercompany accounts
  • Process accruals, journals, and depreciation schedules
  • Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff
  • Maintain Residential Accommodation Deposit (RAD) and bond registers
  • Assist in payroll processing and reconciliations
  • Prepare GST, FBT and payroll tax returns
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual aged care financial reports (QFR & ACFR)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies
  • Participate in care minute and labour analysis and ad-hoc reporting
  • Liaise with auditors and support the year-end audit process
About You:
  • CPA qualified with 3+ years' experience in an Accountant-level role in Australia
  • Aged care or healthcare sector experience (highly regarded)
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
  • Proactive and flexible, willing to take on payroll responsibilities over time
  • Committed to working in alignment with values of honesty, empathy, respect, and engagement
