Job Description

The Company:
About the Company Our client is a leading Australian organisation with a strong presence across their industry. They are known for their collaborative culture, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes. Due to business requirements, they are seeking an experienced Part-Time Payroll Officer to manage payroll activities on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
 

The Role:
This is a Part-Time Payroll Officer position, responsible for supporting the payroll function through the coordination and review of an outsourced payroll process. You will be the key point of contact for payroll-related matters, ensuring payroll data is accurate, complete, and processed efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing and reviewing payroll data prior to outsourced pay runs.
  • Collecting, validating, and maintaining accurate employee payroll information.
  • Reviewing payroll reports and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Managing employee changes including new starters, terminations, leave, and payroll adjustments.
  • Liaising with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure smooth and accurate processing.
  • Responding to employee payroll queries and providing timely support.
  • Maintaining payroll records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Assisting with payroll reporting and process improvements where required.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Experience working within a white-collar corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, legislation, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with internal stakeholders and external providers.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage payroll responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with payroll systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer seeking a flexible part-time contract role where you can take ownership of the payroll function.
