The Company: We are partnering with a growing Australian business operating across multiple entities and sites nationally. Following a period of rapid growth and acquisition, the business is undertaking a large-scale payroll consolidation project to streamline systems, reduce manual processes, and improve payroll compliance and reporting capabilities.
The Role: This is a project-focused role responsible for leading the end-to-end payroll transformation across a complex multi-entity environment.
You will review current payroll processes and systems, identify risks and inefficiencies, and implement a more streamlined and scalable payroll operating model. The role will work closely with payroll, finance, and operational stakeholders to improve automation, standardisation, and reporting across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the payroll consolidation and transformation project across multiple entities
- Map current payroll processes, systems, awards, and pay rules
- Identify payroll compliance risks and process improvement opportunities
- Standardise payroll workflows, onboarding, rostering, approvals, and reporting
- Support payroll system rationalisation and implementation activities
- Improve integration between payroll, time & attendance, and finance systems
- Reduce manual processing and increase payroll accuracy and automation
- Work closely with site managers and payroll teams to support change management
- Deliver clear documentation, training, and handover to the long-term payroll function
The Candidate:
You will be an experienced Payroll Manager or Payroll Transformation Lead with strong project experience in complex Australian payroll environments.
You will bring:
- Experience leading payroll transformation, consolidation, or system implementation projects
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, EBAs, overtime, and leave rules
- Exposure to multi-entity or multi-site payroll environments
- Experience with payroll and rostering systems such as Deputy, Employment Hero, KeyPay, MYOB, or similar
- Strong stakeholder engagement and change management skills
- A hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail and compliance
- The ability to work autonomously and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment
