Ready to step in and transform a payroll function?
This is a rare opportunity to join a growing business on Sydney’s Lower North Shore and lead a payroll review/ transformation project from the ground up.
Working closely with the CFO, you’ll conduct a comprehensive review of the payroll function across systems, processes, controls, and people before designing and implementing a smarter, more efficient future-state payroll operation.
This is far more than BAU payroll. It’s a genuine transformation assignment where your expertise, recommendations, and leadership will directly shape the future of the function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing payroll processes, controls & workflows to identify risks and inefficiencies
- Assessing the capability and structure of the payroll team
- Evaluating payroll & TA systems for functionality, scalability & optimisation opportunities
- Leading transformation initiatives and implementing meaningful operational improvements
- Managing a fortnightly payroll of approximately 300 employees
- Overseeing one offshore Payroll Officer
We’re looking for a hands-on Payroll transformation specialist with proven experience reviewing and improving payroll functions within small to medium-sized businesses. You’ll be commercially minded, solutions-focused, and confident leading change in complex payroll environments.
The client is highly flexible on engagement structure and open to:
- Daily rate contracting
- Fixed-term contract (initial 6 months)
- Part-time arrangements (4 days per week)
