Exciting Career Opportunity: Payroll Specialist
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for full-function payroll delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing across the employee lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end payroll processing
- Managing contract updates, new starters, and terminations
- Ensuring compliance with relevant tax, superannuation, and award obligations
- Providing advice to employees on pay, policy updates, and entitlements
- Performing quality control checks and supporting internal audits
- Attending legislative training and maintaining payroll compliance knowledge
- Supporting documentation, filing, and reporting functions
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical payroll expertise and a collaborative, proactive approach. You will have:
- At least 4-5 years' experience in payroll, ideally in a mid-sized or complex organisation
- Strong knowledge of Modern Awards, tax and super obligations, and payroll legislation
- Proficiency in Excel and payroll/accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and contribute as part of a wider team
