Payroll Team Lead

Job Description

The role: Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the role
provides leadership to the payroll team, ensures compliance with taxation, superannuation, employment legislation,
awards and enterprise agreements.

Your duties will include: 
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee lifecycle transactions, including appointments, transfers, promotions, remuneration changes and terminations.
    • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing across weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles for multiple entities.
    • Lead, mentor and support the payroll team, allocating workloads, monitoring performance and acting as the escalation point for complex payroll queries.
    • Interpret and apply Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards, employment contracts and relevant payroll legislation, including ATO, Fair Work, superannuation and payroll tax requirements.
    • Manage year-end payroll reporting, salary reviews, payroll tax, superannuation, workers' compensation, third-party payments and statutory submissions.
    • Oversee workers' compensation insurance renewals, annual wage declarations, portable long service leave administration. 
    • Manage annual payroll audits. 
The candidate: To be successful in this role you will be required to demonstrate minimum of 3 year working history in the following areas
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll, including experience in a senior payroll role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing payroll team members.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, payroll tax, awards and enterprise
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Depending on your exact levels of experience, a salary between $130,000- $160,000 package is on offer to the successful candidate.
