Due to portfolio growth, there is opportunity for a Property Accountant to join the team in Sydney on 9 month fixed term contract (with high potential to transition to a permanent position).
The Role
As Property Accountant, you will be responsible for end-to-end financial management of a diverse portfolio of assets across Australia.
You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit support. You'll also mentor junior team members and support the Senior Finance Manager on strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities - Full accounting ownership of a property portfolio
- Month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
- Annual budgeting, forecasting, and outgoing estimates for tenants
- Preparation for external audits (statutory, trust, outgoings)
- Property acquisition/disposal support and settlement adjustments
- Identification and implementation of process improvements
- Build effective relationships with non-finance stakeholders
- Training of operational and centre-based staff
About You - CA/CPA qualified
- Previous experience in property or funds accounting
- Strong analytical and Excel skills; MRI system experience a plus
- Confident communicator with great attention to detail
- Passionate about the property industry with a proactive mindset
