The Opportunity
We are seeking a
technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to join a high-performing finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who
thrives in complex environments and enjoys deep technical accounting work, with exposure to large-scale projects and senior stakeholders.
You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, partnering closely with senior finance leaders across reporting and FP&A functions.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the technical accounting function, including interpretation and application of accounting standards (IFRS/AASB)
- Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the general ledger
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and external reporting requirements
- Partner with internal finance teams and manage relationships with external auditors
- Drive process improvement initiatives, including automation, controls enhancement, and system efficiencies
About You - CA/CPA qualified with a strong technical accounting foundation
- Background in Big 4 or mid-tier audit/advisory highly regarded
- Post-qualification experience in a complex corporate environment
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply accounting standards in real-world scenarios
- Strong attention to detail with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
