Senior Payroll Officer

The Role:
This is an opportunity for an experienced, compliance professional to play an integral role in leading the compliance requirements for the Payroll Accounting function.

Compliance
  • Work with Payroll Manager, and ER Team to understand Legislation and requirements
  • Ensure P&C Policies adhere to Legislation
  • Ensure that the Payroll and Finance processes adhere to the policies
System Management
  • Ensure any system changes are effectively communicated to all employees.
  • Work with HR, union representatives, and legal teams to ensure the proper interpretation and implementation of EBA changes, including salary adjustments, allowances, leave entitlements, and other benefits.
Payroll Compliance
  • Ensure payroll Processing is reflective of the relative National Employment Standards, Awards or EA’s
  • Ensure all EOM is actioned in a timely manner for all group entities
  • Lead Same day Super project
  • Lead Payroll Audits with the Payroll Manager.
Audit
  • Manage the 2 year review of Policies and procedures
  • Ensure P&C have checklists in place to ensure data is correct
Payroll Processing and Management
  • Handle PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax across multiple entities, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.
  • Perform audits and reconciliations as required to maintain accuracy and integrity of payroll data.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll responsibilities for EOFY, FBT and Group Tax activities.
  • Provide coverage for payroll officer duties when needed, including during leave, illness or high-volume periods.
  • Support senior management with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and redundancy-related requests.
  • Review and process general ledger entries and manage payroll-related leave liability requirements.
