Senior payroll officer

Job Description



The company
: We have partnered with a global wholesale and distribution company, based in western Sydney, with an impressive year on year grwoth history. They have recently acquired a competitor and are currently amalgamating the payroll function.Due to increase  in headcount a newly created senior payroll officer position is now available.

The Role : Reporting into the Head of payroll as senior payroll officer you will join a team of four and take resposibility for the following duties  

  • Coordination of the 3x payroll officers to ensure employees are paid in full and on time
  • Review of minimum wages to ensure all staff are paid inline with applicable award rates
  • Review of annual calendar, prioritising workload to ensure all agreed processes are delivered against agreed deadlines
  • Liaising with RGM’s and PCM’s as required to ensure all employees are on-boarded correctly, and personnel issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Training and development of the team to ensure a consistent approach across all members and inline with the overall  payroll processes
  • Ensuring that Standard Practice Instructions (SPI’s) are complied with at all times
  • Coordinating the monthly & fortnightly end to end payroll processes in line with agreed processes, ensuring the variance analysis is performed, reviewed and investigated
  • Coordination of the annual salary updates and processing of the annual profit share (bonus) payments within agreed deadlines
  • Working with the Head of Payroll and other senior payroll officers to review & implement agreed changes and processes, ensuring opportunities for efficiencies are identified
  • Ensuring documentation of all processes with regular review and updates when changes occur

  • Current exp as a asenior payroll officer, 
  • highly proficient in Exel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exp with top tier payroll and T&A  systems
